Overview
Kahonani is a storytelling app designed for children aged 2-8, where stories are narrated by grandparents (Nana-Nani) to foster a sense of warmth, tradition, and emotional connection. Through user research and UI/UX design, the app ensures an interactive, accessible, and engaging experience, helping children develop a love for stories while bridging generational gaps.
Connecting hearts through timeless stories
In today’s fast-paced world, children aged 2-8 are often missing out on the enriching tradition of storytelling by grandparents, which fosters imagination, emotional bonding, and cultural values. At the same time, grandparents struggle to connect with younger generations through engaging, age-appropriate mediums. This gap is also due to the physical distance between the grandparents and kids. This gap highlights the need for a storytelling solution that brings Nana-Nani’s warmth and wisdom into children’s lives, using a format that resonates with both audiences.
"How might we create an engaging, accessible, and culturally rich storytelling solution that fosters emotional connections between children aged 2-8 and their grandparents, while ensuring a user-friendly, safe, and personalized experience for all users?" The goal is to create an accessible, interactive solution that bridges generations through storytelling, promoting learning, creating emotional connection and joy!
